[AODA members] thank you, new AODA board

Dear AODA members,

A year has already passed and it is time for the 2007-2008 AODA Board and
Leadership team to take over. I am very honored to have served as the
president of AODA for 2006-2007 and I will continue to

serve our association in any way I can.

This year was a very valuable experience and I will treasure it always.
Meeting and talking with a lot of you made the difference.

Also, I was very lucky and privileged to work closely with a very
charismatic board  and  an active  leadership team.

Please, allow me to thank them all and present them to you for one more
time(2006-2007 AODA board): Staci Crawford, Stacia Nordin, Patricia Kramer,
Cynthia Millard, Naomi Trostler,Marsha Moore, Katrina Chim

My gratitude to the leadership team, the different committees and the
country representatives for all their hard work (please, see attachment for
all their names and positions-many thanks to all of them).

 

Each one of the people around me for this year had strong personality and
very special traits and it made me feel that I was surrounded by a very
strong and effective board and strong leaders and I  felt that  we
complement each other.

I believe, I was lucky as each one of us had the quality and the ability to
see what was going on in our association. 
I believe that our team demonstrated some valuable qualities , such as: 

Good communication 
Being articulate 
The ability to think on your feet 
Humour 
Flexibility 
Integrity 
Compelling presence 
Empathy

Ethics and character 

Ability to define and execute strategy 

Domain expertise and knowledge 

Teamwork 

Capability to lead during change 

Coaching and mentoring 

Cultural Integrity 

 

I feel that we had great accomplishments and the biggest one to finish our
Strategic Planning and establish a leadership training program for the board
and the LT.

We managed good at the finances and sponsorships, and we had good national
(International reception at FNCE 2006 and HOD representation) and
international (articles in ICDA, participation in EFAD) exposure, we updated
the website and newsletter, we had a regional meeting in Cyprus, and we
presented a very innovative project the AODA cookbook (I feel it was a
success although we did not manage to earn the money).These are just some
examples and I can go on and on.

 

Thank you all for your hard work this year and for all your efforts. I will
always cherish your friendship and partnership

 

Congratulations Stacia Nordin and board /LT of 2007-2008. Good luck to you
and I wish you very success

I've been working on a signature for my e-mail and wondered if people like
this and if so, I can make them for each of you, or you can make them for
yourselves as well.  Is there anyone else on the LT that is IT savvy for
creating templates like this?  I'd love to see us move in a direction that
presents AODA in the most professional light possible.  Small things like
this really help in my opinion.

I'm on the Internet overnight, then I'm traveling Sunday morning and won't
be back until Wednesday.  I will be in contact for about a week at that
time.
